MasterCard Acquires Pinpoint

MasterCard is set to acquire Pinpoint Pty. Ltd. (“Pinpoint”), a provider of loyalty and rewards services to financial institutions and merchants in the Asia Pacific region. The acquisition is expected to close in Q2 2014. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Sydney, Pinpoint is recognized as one of Australia’s leading rewards program managers, increasing its footprint across the region into China, Hong Kong, India, Taiwan and Japan.

Combined with other MasterCard solutions and capabilities, Pinpoint will help merchants create more effective and efficient rewards programs for customers. The solution also will help merchants target new customers while retaining their existing client base.
