Former Walmart Exec Is New Co-Owner Of Gracious Home

dottiemattsonDottie Mattison, who spent four years in executive roles at Wal-Mart Stores, has joined with investor David Mitchell to purchase a majority ownership stake in Gracious Home for an undisclosed price. As part of the acquisition, Mattison will assume the role of CEO, while Mitchell will serve as Chairman.

The new ownership team plans to enhance the customer service experience and further expand the home furnishing retailer’s e-Commerce site, which has grown by more than 50% in the past year.

Americas Flagship Retail Fund, which has owned Gracious Home since 2010, will retain a minority stake in the retailer.Currently, Gracious Home has four locations in New York City.

At Walmart, Mattison served as SVP and General Manager of the Apparel Global Merchandising Center, and was Chief Merchant of Walmart.com. Most recently, Mattison served as Senior Managing Director at Guggenheim Partners, a global investment management and advisory firm. While at Guggenheim, she also served as CEO of Prometheus Global Media, parent company of The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Adweek and The Clio Awards.

Mitchell is president of Mitchell Holdings LLC, a New York-based investment and real estate development company.
