EM Cosmetics Improves International E-Commerce Sales By 20% With MyUS.com

Through the powers of the web, consumers all over the world can discover new and emerging brands. To satisfy these consumers, businesses must not only engage them on social media and other channels, they also must allow them to purchase products and deliver them right to customer’s doorsteps.

As a digitally based e-Commerce brand, EM Cosmetics focuses on engaging consumers on social networks such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Founded by beauty expert and YouTube sensation Michelle Phan, EM Cosmetics also uses the video publishing site to share tutorials.

On YouTube, the EM Cosmetics account has more than 276,000 subscribers and Phan has more than seven million. As this digital fan base has grown, so has the EM Cosmetics e-Commerce business. And with help from MyUS.com, an international shipping and consolidation service, the brand has been able to keep pace with increased demand.

“Our brand grew last year by about 20%, as we opened our sales opportunities outside the U.S. by using MyUS.com as a freight exporter service to customers,” said Roseanne Fama, VP of Product Development at EM Cosmetics. Through MyUS.com, international consumers are able to purchase products from within the U.S. and have them shipped directly to their doorstop. Previously lacking this capability, EM Cosmetics saw MyUS.com as an opportunity to boost international brand awareness and overall sales.

“We expected our business to grow by 15% in 2014 with international sales,” Fama explained. “But our business was able to grow more than that thanks to our connection with MyUS.com.”

EM Cosmetics initially learned of MyUS.com through colleagues at a sister brand that were using the service for international sales. “We investigated the company and thought it would be a great opportunity to collaborate,” Fama said. “In fact, the reason we felt so comfortable moving forward with MyUS.com was the accolades they received from the Better Business Bureau and other awards from the industry.”

The brand initially started working with MyUS.com in late 2013 and went live on Feb. 1, 2014. In addition to the substantial growth in sales, EM Cosmetics has benefitted from the MyUS.com customer service team, which assists consumers that shop from a myriad of brand partners on its web site.

In fact, consumers experience myriad of benefits through MyUS.com. For example, the service can help customers save more than 80% on global shipping, according to estimates from the company. They also can ship purchase from multiple U.S. stores in one shipment, and have their items delivered within two to four days.
