Carpisa Streamlines Design, Production and Sourcing With PLM Solution

Carpisa, a leading Italian brand for fashion handbags, luggage and accessories, has deployed the TXT Retail PLM solution. The product lifecycle management solution allows Carpisa to integrate and streamline all phases of its collection lifecycle – from early design and planning through prototyping and costing, up to sourcing, supplier collaboration and final product development. Founded in 2001, the fashion retailer operates more than 600 franchised stores in Italy and Europe along with an e-Commerce site.

“Carpisa is, in the most positive meaning of this expression, a ‘fast-fashion business,'” said Simone Padrin, Retail Merchandising Manager at Carpisa. “We develop over 3,000 SKUs per year, and with such a wide assortment and pace of innovation, we need to be fast-efficient at every stage of the product lifecycle.”

The TXT PLM solution’s workflow capabilities enable synchronization of multiple teams via to-do lists and alerts. Its web interface allows mobile workers within the company, along with sourcing teams, to work on the set of data that’s relevant to them, anytime, anywhere.

At Carpisa, more than 20 designers use the solution, along with product managers, planning and procurement teams and a sourcing team of 30 + people. The system integrates with Carpisa’s existing ERP system, the SAP FMS (Fashion Management Solution).

“A key benefit of the system is the visibility and monitoring of timelines, which helps orchestrate the work of so many different teams and to hit the market with the right products in a timely manner,” said Padrin.
