Eyelure Uses AR To Showcase Influencer-Curated Eyelashes

Eyelure is using Augmented Reality (AR) to allow shoppers to virtually try on Eyelure false eyelashes. The brand is partnering with Perfect Corp., a beauty app developer, to showcase its product portfolio on the YouCam Makeup app.

The app will feature lashes from collections curated by industry influencers, including Vegas Nay, Jasmine Brown and Krazyrayray. YouCam Makeup also will showcase styles from the Silk Effects, Faux Mink, Definition and Wispy collections. Additionally, shoppers will be able to virtually try Jasmine Brown’s signature beauty look, which features dark berry lips and dramatic contouring.

Eyelure isn’t the only beauty brand leaping into AR. Earlier this month L’Oréal acquired ModiFace, an AR beauty company, with plans to extend the app developer’s AR and AI tools to all 34 of its international brands. The deal marks the first tech acquisition for L’Oréal, which has its own partnership with Perfect Corp.

Perfect Corp. has raised funds from investors, bringing in $25 million in Series A funding in an October 2017 round. YouCam Makeup has been downloaded more than 550 million times globally. Additional app retail partners include Estee Lauder, Yves Saint Laurent, MAC Cosmetics and Macy’s.
