HP Releases In-Store Solutions For Enhanced Shopping Experiences

HP
announced today the upcoming release of HP RP7, an all-in-one retail solution featuring assisted selling and checkout solutions, an intuitive touch interface and retail customization to accommodate varying in-store needs. HP also announced its new HP L6015tm and HP L6017tm Retail Touch Monitors, which were developed to offer sleek, modernized experiences in associate-facing displays. The new technologies tentatively will be released in August, according to a company announcement.

The HP RP7 was designed to provide associates with all the capabilities of a traditional retail system but with the ability for retailers to customize features for specific retail environments and customer needs.

“As omni-channel retail comes to the forefront, it is vital that retailers have the necessary technology to create seamless and compelling in-store experiences,” Ray Carlin, VP of Retail Solutions for HP told Retail TouchPoints. “We created the RP7 as a key example of how retailers can use new technology to better engage shoppers, and also help the store associate better serve customers throughout the browsing and buying journey.”

The HP L6015tm and HP L6017tm Retail Touch Monitors feature intuitive and familiar Projective Capacitive touch technology through 15- and 17-inch displays. Retailers can customize assets including system mounting, screen size and touch screen capabilities to create an experience similar to smartphones and tablets, according to Carlin.

Additional customization allows retailers to maximize valuable counter space by adding optional peripherals that can be integrated easily on any side of the HP RP7, HP L6015tm and HP L6017tm. These options include:

·  A fingerprint reader to provide additional security at the point of service;

·  Magnetic stripe readers, which enable credit card transactions or loyalty card integration without adding clutter to the retail work space; and

·  Webcam integrations to support a personalized customer interface with online/remote customer service representatives via a kiosk format.

HP also introduced the 10-inch diagonal non-touch HP L6010 Retail Monitor, designed to offer customer-facing displays for order verification and promotional activities. The product also is ideal as an associate-facing display in space-constrained environments.
