Sam’s Club Hires 100 Employees For Technology Office

Sam’s Club, a subsidiary of Walmart, has hired approximately 100 technology employees for a new office in downtown Dallas, according to Dallas News. The 45,000-square-foot facility is separate from other technology centers shared between the companies, and it will be the only one entirely focused on Sam’s technology work.

Sam’s also is planning on opening a new concept store this fall in a space on Lower Greenville in Dallas, where Walmart had previously operated a Neighborhood Market store that it closed in January 2016. The retailer’s plans for the store include provide a new technology-driven shopping experience to customers.

The tech employees have been situated in co-working spaces and in the company’s Southlake warehouse in preparation for their move into the new space in August, according to Walmart spokeswoman Anne Hatfield.
