Digital diamond and fine jewelry retailer Blue Nile has made two new additions to its executive team: Jason Moss has joined in the new position of COO, and Ben Abitbol will take on the new role of SVP of Supply Chain.
Moss brings a decadeof leadership in a variety of high-tech businesses to his new role. Previously a director at Amazon Web Services, Moss will set the vision and strategy for marketing, ecommerce and technology.
Abitbol will handle all global supply chain operations as SVP of Supply Chain. He is tasked with driving the company’s end-to-end integration, increasing speed through digitalization, lean manufacturing and product customization to adapt quickly to evolving fashion trends. Abitbol previously led the supply chain at Timex.
The hiring of Moss and Abitbol follows a series of executive additions Blue Nile made in 2020, including:
- Dominique Bourgault as CFO, who joined the company from Expedia Group;
- Anita Natarajan as SVP of International, who will lead the company’s international business in more than 40 countries and previously led the global airports business at Uber; and
- Camille Cleveland as SVP and General Counsel, who brought a breadth of transactional and operational experience from previous roles at IAC and Papyrus.
In addition to expanding its leadership team, Blue Nile also is investing in its technology, website experience and new customer services, including the ability to book virtual appointments. Additionally, the company is expanding its physical store presence with two new showrooms now open in California.
“It is a very exciting time for Blue Nile as we build on the company’s two decades of industry leadership while rapidly innovating to meet the needs of the modern consumer,” said CEO Sean Kell in a statement. “The additions to our leadership team, combined with our e-tailing business strategy, creates new opportunities for Blue Nile and extends our market position as a best-in-class diamond and fine jewelry retailer.”
