SocialVend has launched its first social media-activated vending machine, vendmini. Retailers can use the small-footprint machines for marketing campaigns, in-store sampling and promotional giveaways.
The machines integrate social media platforms such as Snapchat, Twitter and Instagram.
To trigger a vend, the machines prompt users to post to social media with their mobile devices using the brand’s hashtag. The SocialVend system constantly scours social networks for uses of the hashtag and matches the posts with the user at the machine, rewarding them with a physical gift for their action.
The social actions build brand awareness among members of the user’s network, which can potentially foster more immediate, extended brand engagement and build lasting brand affinity.
Brands can wrap the vendmini machines in graphics and offer a fully customizable software interface. It can be filled with product samples, cosmetics, promotional giveaways, gift cards and the like. In addition, a brand team can run surveys and capture data, generating valuable market research and marketing data.
Users can install the vendmini machines in different locations with wall brackets, suction cups or its very own compact stand.
