Walgreens Expands Postmates On-Demand Delivery To 13 New Cities

Walgreens has expanded its on-demand delivery partnership with Postmates to 13 additional markets after what the drugstore chain described as a successful pilot in Manhattan and Brooklyn that rolled out in October 2019.

More than 1,700 Walgreens stores will participate in the on-demand delivery program. Consumers in Los Angeles; San Francisco; San Diego; Phoenix; Las Vegas; Portland, Ore; Washington, D.C.; Chicago; Atlanta; Charlotte; N.C.; Miami; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and Houston will be able to get health and wellness products and select over-the-counter medications delivered to them from Walgreens stores via Postmates.

Postmates is offering Walgreens shoppers in these markets a one-time free delivery from March 9 through March 15. To redeem, shoppers must enter the code WALGREENS at checkout on Postmates.com or in the Postmates app.

“Convenience is becoming increasingly important to our shoppers,” said Stefanie Kruse, VP of Digital Commerce and Omni-Channel at Walgreens in a statement. “They are looking to retailers, like Walgreens, to help them save time in their busy lives. It’s all about getting customers what they need, when and where is most convenient for them. We look forward to making our core product assortment available in these new cities through our expanded ongoing collaboration with Postmates.”
