Salesfloor Awards Program Spotlights Frontline Workers

The coronavirus pandemic has served to remind everyone of how vital frontline workers are, particularly in retail. With its inaugural Associates of the Year Awards, Salesfloor hopes to keep the spotlight shining on retail associates and store managers in the months to come.

This community has faced significant hardships, including furloughs, reduced hours and new responsibilities because of COVID-19. In addition, “store associates and managers have taken on more responsibility over the years, from the buy online, pickup in-store trend to personalizing experiences for every shopper on every channel, while also having to be product and style experts,” said Oscar Sachs, CEO of Salesfloor in a statement. “Our mission has always been to empower associates, and we couldn’t think of a better time than now to launch our awards program.”

Store managers and associates working for any retail organization in the world can nominate themselves, or one another, for recognition in three categories:

  • Best Customer Experience Associate: By creating memorable customer experiences online and offline, these associates build customer loyalty through relationships that leave customers with a positive impression of the retailer’s brand.
  • Best Omnichannel Associate: These associates deliver exceptional experiences to serve customers across all channels, by taking an innovative approach to their role and leveraging technology to drive the business.
  • Star Associate of the Year: This is the most prestigious award, recognizing one who consistently surpasses goals while providing exceptional service and supporting fellow associates. This person leads by example, inspires others, builds meaningful relationships and is an extraordinary brand representative.

Nominators will be asked how the associate demonstrates exceptional retail performance on the front line, is committed to delivering personalized customer experiences for clients or is achieving admirable results.

The nomination period, now open, ends August 27. Finalists will be announced October 6, and winners will be announced in a real-time virtual event on October 22, 2020.
