Totsy Experiences 3,000% Growth With Logistics Solution

Consumers in today’s always-on retail environment demand rapid customer service and quick turnaround from purchase to delivery. To help meet these demands, Totsy, a flash retailer focused on moms and kids, selected a logistics solution from Dotcom Distribution, a provider of flash sale, e-Commerce and multi-channel sales fulfillment.

Since teaming with the provider in mid-2011, Totsy has improved purchase-to-delivery turnaround by 3,000%, Guillaume Guathereau, CEO and Co-Founder of Totsy, told Retail TouchPoints.

Totsy relies on Dotcom to enhance the customer experience, from warehousing and inventory management to custom product packaging and same-day shipping. The service provides Totsy with an average two-day delivery time, via UPS Ground, to 75% of the U.S. population.
 
Consistently fast turnaround is key to a flash retailer’s growth. Totsy recently acquired assets from Mamasource, a daily deal site for moms, adding more than two million moms to its existing database and expanding Totsy membership ― and the eTailer’s fulfillment requirements ― to approximately five million members.

“Even if merchants have the best products and web sites, if they can’t deliver the products correctly and quickly, and meet consumers’ expectations of the brand,” Doug Sternberg, EVP of Client Strategy for Dotcom Distribution, told Retail TouchPoints, “then nothing else really matters.”

In July 2012, Totsy announced the company had raised $18.5 million in new financing to help combat rival flash sale web sites. In addition, Totsy said the company revenue grew 125% in the first half of 2012, in comparison to the same period the year prior.
