Bed Bath & Beyond Hires JCPenney Veteran to Oversee Home Categories

Bed Bath & Beyond has named Stacey Shively as SVP and General Merchandise Manager for Home, effective May 17, 2021. She will be responsible for accelerating the company’s merchandising plans in categories including bed, bath, seasonal, décor, kitchen, dining, organization, electrics and general merchandise as part of its three-year transformation strategy.

Shively brings more than 25 years of retail experience in merchandising, product development and inventory management to the position. She most recently served as SVP, General Merchandise Manager for JCPenney’s home division, where she was responsible for overseeing its merchandising strategies for home product categories. Additionally, Shively spent 17 years at Target in multiple merchandising and planning roles and held leadership positions at Bluestem Brands and Dollar Tree.

“I am delighted to be joining Bed Bath & Beyond at such an exciting time for the company,” said Shively in a statement. “I have observed the early stages of the company’s transformation and I am looking forward to lending my experience to support their plans, strengthening the merchandising approach for home categories, and continuing to provide innovative strategies to support their growth objectives.”

Shively will begin overseeing the home categories as Bed Bath & Beyond seeks to grow its market share in this area. The retailer’s recent activities include launching an omnichannel brand campaign that covers national broadcast and cable TV, streaming online video, paid social, print, in-store and email, as well as a revamp of associate uniforms.
