Rent The Runway Hires Two Logistics Veterans To Bolster Supply Chain Operations

Rent the Runway has named Brian Donato as Chief Supply Officer and Mike Indresano as Senior Transportation Executive. The two new hires bring decades of supply chain leadership experience with them, which could help the retailer repair its reputation after weeks of delayed deliveries led to a pause in new member signups and the departure of former Chief Supply Officer Marv Cunningham in October 2019.

Donato comes from Bowery Farming, where he worked as EVP of Operations and oversaw the startup’s distribution expansion from five to more than 100 grocery stores. Donato also worked at Amazon for seven years, where he held leadership roles in the North American Customer Returns, Worldwide Fresh, Worldwide Pantry and half of the North American Fulfillment Network businesses. Amazon Fresh expanded from 12 to 60 cities under his watch.

“As the pioneer of rental and leader in reverse logistics, operational transformation to enhance our customer experience is one of our highest priorities,” said Jennifer Hyman, Co-Founder and CEO of Rent The Runway in a statement. “Brian’s leadership and experience in operations and logistics will be a valuable asset to the company as we continue to advance our end-to-end differentiated operational capabilities to capitalize on our future growth opportunities.”

Indresano has more than 30 years of logistics experience, most recently as SVP, Operations Strategy at Walmart, where he led the implementation of next-day delivery service for Walmart.com. He also served as VP of Amazon Transportation Services, where he led the teams that launched seven-day delivery and acquired the first planes for Prime Air.
