In the fourth annual Store Operations Survey report, Retail TouchPoints surveyed more than 100 retail executives to uncover pain points, challenges and future plans when it comes to store operations strategies. As many as 43% of retailers have increased store operations budgets in 2015; and another 32% report budgets at the same level as 2014.
Notably, new technology comprises 57% of budget increases. Some of the greatest upticks in new technology implementations this year include in-store WiFi for shoppers (71%) and Beacon technology (28%).
Also similar to 2014, retailers consider year-over-year revenue and same-store sales the two most important measures for store success. Notably, though, online-to-store conversion increased in importance, to 9% from 2%.
