RPE Partners With Silvon Software To Offer Web-Based Business Analysis

Retail Process Engineering (RPE) recently partnered with Silvon Software, a business intelligence solution provider, to offer a web-based business analysis software interface for retailers. Under the terms of agreement, RPE will market Silvon’s Viewer interface for Performance Analysis by IDEAS, a client-server BI application for JDA Software Group’s Merchandise Management System. “We look forward to helping their IDEAS customers improve the effectiveness of their merchandising efforts by leveraging the application’s processing power, industry best-practice metrics for analyzing point-of-sale and inventory data, along with the latest advancements in information delivery technology,” said John Hughes, SVP of Sales and Marketing at Silvon, in a press release. The Viewer for Performance Analysis by IDEAS interface includes portal and reporting services functionality and is designed to allow customers to create business intelligence portals and customer reports without the utilizing additional software. Additionally, the solution offers retailers the ability to monitor and react proactively to business conditions such as poor performing locations and excessive shrink or void rates via its Exception Management facility. In other RPE news, in May 2011, RPE received the Partnership Leadership Award from JDA Software during the JDA FOCUS 2011 in Orlando, FL. The award recognizes industry-leading partners who share the vision, resources and best practices of JDA Software.


Crate and Barrel Selects Searchmetrics To Optimize Online And Product Searches

Crate and Barrel has selected Searchmetrics as its search engine optimization solution. The new tool is designedto better serve customers by increasing visibility in online searches andensure access to the retailer’s products. “We are committed to a path of constant innovation to provide our customers with the best online shopping experience,” noted John Seebeck, VP of e-Commerce at Crate and Barrel. “The expertise of partners like Searchmetrics will help us take our online presence to the next level.” As a Premium customer of Searchmetrics, Crate and Barrel will benefit from access to Searchmetrics’ database, which includes 25 million keywords and 55 million domains as well as automated link management, web analytics integration and keyword tracking. In other news, earlier this month, Crate and Barrel deployed QR codes to promote its gift card contest, awarding the winner with a $500 gift card. The contest is running throughout August and September 2011.
