7-Eleven Adds Another On-Demand Delivery Option at 700+ Stores

7-Eleven has partnered with Waitr to add another delivery option at more than 700 of its stores. Waitr specializes in on-demand restaurant and grocery store delivery in 1,000 U.S. cities, and 7-Eleven is the platform’s first national convenience store partner.

Waitr will join the range of other delivery options 7-Eleven offers, including:

  • The 7NOW Gold Pass service, a subscription plan that offers free delivery on more than 3,000 products including hot food, drinks, household items, snacks and groceries, with orders typically arriving in 30 minutes or less;
  • Instacart, which launched a pilot partnership with 7-Eleven in 2020 and has since expanded to offer delivery from more than 7,000 locations;
  • DoorDash and Postmates, which expanded their delivery options with 7-Eleven during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic to help the convenience retailer keep up with delivery demand; and
  • Vroom Delivery, which handles deliveries for 7-Eleven Hawaii including prepared foods like Spam Musubi and pork hash, as well as grocery staples, snacks and beer.

“We’re excited to reach and serve our customers on Waitr with what they want — when, where and how they want it,” said Raghu Mahadevan, SVP and Chief Digital Officer at 7-Eleven in a statement. “We look forward to bringing fan-favorite 7-Eleven products — like ice cold Slurpee drinks, hot pizza or ice cream — to even more customers across the country.”

7-Eleven also has been experimenting in the delivery space beyond standard same-day and on-demand options. The retailer launched 7Voice, a voice ordering option for 7NOW, for both Google Home and Amazon Echo systems in 2019. 7Voice orders are available in 30 minutes or less, the same as 7NOW orders placed through the app.

Additionally, Grubhub and 7-Eleven partnered to expand the Grubhub Goods branded convenience concept nationwide in February 2022. Grubhub Goods offers on-demand delivery from more than 3,000 locations nationwide, with choices including popular 7-Eleven items such as energy drinks, ice cream and personal care products.
