Surprise! Party City Launches DoorDash Delivery Partnership

Party City has teamed up with DoorDash to offer on-demand delivery of party supplies from the retailer’s 700+ stores. Products including costumes, balloons and special occasion décor are now available on the DoorDash marketplace and app, and delivery from all participating Party City stores will be available on the DashPass membership program.

“At Party City, our goal is to be there for all the ways you celebrate,” said Susan Sanderson, SVP of Brand Marketing at Party City in a statement. “Whether picking up a few extra necessities or shopping for a full party haul, DoorDash will provide convenient and quick access to our one-stop-shop, allowing hosts to spend more time with their loved ones.”

As an introductory bonus, consumers will receive 35% off (up to $20) with promo code PC35 on their Party City DoorDash order through March 17.

Party City filed for bankruptcy protection in January following a December 2022 warning from the New York Stock Exchange that the company was at risk of being delisted due to its low stock price. The retailer announced in February 2023 that it would close 22 underperforming stores as part of its bankruptcy reorganization.

DoorDash has recently been expanding beyond its roots in grocery delivery, including its November 2022 agreement with Tractor Supply to deliver items from its nearly 2,000 stores. The platform also has been growing its offerings with existing partners: Kroger expanded its DoorDash product categories to include floral and sushi in December 2022, and Starbucks announced plans in January 2023 for a nationwide delivery partnership rolling out this month.
