Majority of Consumers Choose Christmas Morning Present Exchanges

Disappointing fans of the movie Die Hard — who insist that it’s a Christmas movie despite its violence and strong language — Home Alone reigns as U.S. consumers’ favorite holiday movie, according to a recent survey, followed closely by How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

The survey also revealed that consumers spend $126.38 on holiday decorations on average each year, or more than $7,000 over a lifetime. And as for those exchanging presents on Christmas Eve rather than Christmas Day, you’re in the minority: 77% of respondents wait until Dec. 25 officially arrives.
