Urban Outfitters has revamped its secondhand offerings into a new centralized Vintage + Remade hub, featuring a selection of vintage goods curated by the Urban team as well as used apparel that has been repaired and restored.

The platform’s aim is to help Gen Z find unique used items “as thrift shops become flooded with fast fashion ecommerce brands,” according to a company statement. Urban isn’t new to the world of resale, but the Vintage + Remade platform — which is available as a separate section on the Urban Outfitters website — brings a renewed focus to the retailer’s secondhand offerings by zeroing in on curation and upcycling.

As part of the Vintage + Remade launch, Urban has collaborated with a number of independent brands and designers — including Puppy Breath, Lucky Loves Label, Landon Moreis, Moxie Wrrld, Tessa Fay and Oddli — to curate secondhand collections that showcase each creative’s unique flair.

“Vintage + Remade turns the scarcity of well-made, high-quality vintage pieces into a surplus through our collaborations with vetted curators, upcyclers and artists,” said Cyntia Leo, Head of Brand at Urban Outfitters in comments shared with Retail TouchPoints. “These collections create a streamlined shopping experience — placing upcycled, secondhand materials onto the racks of Gen Z shoppers who every day are turning to thrift stores and online resales to find nostalgic, diamond-in-the-rough vintage clothing. Urban Outfitters has turned to these designers to input their personal flair and self-expression into these hand-picked collections, introducing shoppers to Urban’s newest platform as a go-to destination for the classic staples of yesterday.”
