Starbucks Launches National Rollout of Grubhub Delivery Partnership

Starbucks is rolling out a delivery partnership with Grubhub to select markets in Pennsylvania, Colorado and Illinois this month and plans to expand it to all 50 states by August 2024. Starbucks is the most searched merchant not yet available on the Grubhub Marketplace, according to the company, and this deal will allow customers to have their Starbucks orders delivered directly to their homes or offices.

Starbucks Delivery with Grubhub will be accessible both online and on the Grubhub mobile app, where customers can track their orders from preparation to drop-off. To assist with safe deliveries, Starbucks has developed multiple packaging solutions, including two-cup to-go trays and improved shopper bags that will enable delivery drivers to transport multiple beverages. Most of the Starbucks menu, including seasonal beverages and food items, will be available through Grubhub.

“Customer demand to get Starbucks delivered continues to increase, as evidenced by double-digit growth in the U.S. delivery business in the past quarter, indicating that our customers continue to want convenience in their everyday lives,” said Meg Mathes, VP of Digital Experiences at Starbucks in a statement. “Our new partnership with Grubhub will help fuel this growth by increasing availability of Starbucks products to Grubhub’s tens of millions of customers via a leading delivery provider.”

Like many of its rival delivery services, Grubhub has been expanding its relationships with retailers in recent months. CVS partnered with Grubhub in February 2024 for deliveries from its 6,000+ stores, and last month Amazon integrated Grubhub’s delivery system into its platform, allowing customers to order from thousands of restaurants directly in the Amazon app or website without having to switch to Grubhub.
