Whole Foods New Concept Store Adopts ‘365’ Branding

365WholeFoodsWhole Foods Market has unveiled the name of its new store format, 365 by Whole Foods Market. The retailer announced the new store concept in May, and it plans to open the stores in 2016.

The new format is designed to complement its existing stores and provide a more value-oriented shopping experience that appeals to busy shoppers.

The “365” moniker takes its name from the 365 Everyday Value branded products, which are designed to combine high quality foods with value prices.

Jeff Turnas, will serve as President of 365 by Whole Foods Market and will operate out of the company’s headquarters in Austin, Texas. Turnas, a 20-year veteran at Whole Foods Market, has held various leadership positions throughout the company, including Regional President of Whole Foods Market North Atlantic, and, most recently as Regional President of Whole Foods Market UK.

“These stores are going to be cool,” Turnas said in a company video promoting the concept. “They are going to look great. They’ll be fresh. They’ll be bright. They’ll include the right amount of technology to make the experience utilitarian and useful for customers, and not just serve as technology for technology’s sake, and you’ll be able to do a full shop. We are not looking at a discount model. We are not looking at a dumbed-down version of Whole Foods because we are never going to sacrifice our quality standards.”
