Kroger Plans to Hire 10,000 New Associates Across its Family of Companies

Kroger Hiring

The Kroger Co. is planning a nationwide hybrid hiring event, both virtually and at its stores, on June 10. The goal is to bring on 10,000 new employees across its roster of grocery banners, including Kroger, King Soopers, Ralph’s, Food4Less, Fry’s Food Stores. Kroger has positions available across retail, ecommerce, pharmacy, manufacturing and logistics operations.

The supermarket giant has made an $800 million incremental investment in associate wages and training over the last three years, raising the organization’s average national wage to more than $15.50 per hour. This year, Kroger plans to invest an additional $350 million to increase the average associate wage to $16 per hour.

Despite ongoing unemployment, many companies find themselves competing to hire workers. To sweeten its offer, Kroger is touting employee benefits including a tuition reimbursement program, ongoing training, wellness services and a one-time $100 payment for associates who get the COVID-19 vaccine.

“The Kroger Family of Companies is one of the largest employers in the country and our longstanding culture of opportunity has created an environment where many people, whether it be an intern, stocker, or pharmacy technician, come for a job and stay for a career,” said Tim Massa, SVP and Chief People Officer at Kroger in a statement. “We want to meet our associates where they are and provide them with tools and pathways to grow as individuals and with our organization because the jobs of the future will grow and evolve just like our business. Today’s growth-minded associates will deliver tomorrow’s solutions for our customers.”
