Nordstrom NYC Flagship Gives a Home to Home Products

Nordstrom has introduced a two-story Nordstrom Home retail space at its NYC flagship location in Midtown Manhattan with an emphasis on city living, featuring products such as compact appliances, small furniture and suitcase-friendly items for tourists.

The move coincides with the debut of Nordstrom Home, a newly expanded merchandise assortment concept that includes kitchen and tabletop, home textiles and home décor. The curated collection, available at Nordstrom stores nationwide and online at Nordstrom.com, includes emerging brands such as Estelle Glassware, GOODEE, Otherland, and Serax, plus established brands including Boll & Branch, Dyson, Staub, Marimekko, Matouk and Moccamaster.

The Nordstrom Home concept will offer a selection of online products and services to complement its in-store offerings. An interactive digital experience features content from a diverse range of brands that will offer home stylist inspirations and help customers navigate shopping for their home.

The NYC Shop reflects the natural light and open, hyper-flexible floor plan of the flagship’s overall design, allowing customers to easily navigate the space. The new concept features an immersive room-by-room approach to each key area of the home with highlighted products on display. Dedicated areas for the living room, office, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen are enhanced by an interactive space that will host a rotating series of consumer activations.

The new shop will showcase a number of New York-born brands, institutions and businesses, such as décor and housewares from the MoMA Design Store, a dedicated BEVERLY’s shop installation and products from Quiet Town, Beni Rugs, Bole, Dusen Dusen and Thompson Street Studio. The shop will feature kitchenware brand Great Jones’ first-ever physical retail experience, in a multi-floor immersive build out in which Sierra Tishgart, Co-Founder of Great Jones, will showcase some of her favorite products.

“We thoughtfully and purposely sought after independent small makers, established designers, and renowned institutions rooted in the city to support local businesses,” said Olivia Kim, VP of Creative Projects at Nordstrom in a statement. “We believe it is important, now more than ever, to cultivate connection in and be a platform for the community that we serve.”
