Chicago-based mobile marketing technology provider Vibes has secured $45 million in funding for global expansion. This investment, from telecom company Syniverse, will bring the two mobile players together to provide international campaigns for clients such as Gap, Home Depot and Chipotle.
The two companies plan to use the funding to create what they call a “global mobile-first strategy.” Vibes will gain access to Syniverse’s 200+ sales and account resources to deploy mobile campaigns. For its part, Syniverse will be able to deploy Vibes’ technology platform Catapult, which runs mobile marketing campaigns via text messages, push notifications and mobile wallets.
The partnership will position current and future retail customers to reach more consumers on a global scale, as well as track the return on their mobile marketing spend and accelerate the shift from email campaigns. “Vibes has helped some of the most successful brands, including Chipotle, Home Depot and Gap, unlock additional revenue through targeted mobile marketing campaigns,” said Stephen C. Gray, President and CEO of Syniverse in a statement. Recently, Vibes worked with Chipotle on the restaurant chain’s free burrito campaign.
