Amazon To Hire 2,500 Full-Time Employees Across Fulfillment Network

Amazon.com, Inc.
plans to hire more than 2,500 full-time employees to accommodate expansion of its U.S. fulfillment network.

The move comes in light of Amazon’s aggressive growth plans, which include opening more fulfillment centers across the U.S. Current jobs, which consist of picking, packing and shipping customer orders, are available in the following cities: Chester, Va.; Coffeyville, Kan.; Columbia, S.C.; Dupont, Wash.; Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and Petersburg, Va.

With the new job openings, Amazon will be able to bring “new employment opportunities to local communities across the country,” according to Mike Roth, VP of North America Operations for Amazon.

Last year, Amazon hired more than 20,000 employees for U.S. fulfillment centers; approximately half of those workers started as seasonal employees.
