Epicor Introduces Mobile Retail POS To Improve Customer Service, Partners With Global Bay

Epicor recently announced that its Retail Store POS is now mobile-enabled for easy deployment and use on Apple iPad, iPod and Windows mobile devices. In an effort to help retailers improve customer service, the new Epicor Retail Mobile Store module features a touch screen user interface, extensive customization capabilities and includes shared printer functionality. “We’ve experienced an incredible amount of interest from more than 30 retailers who are anxious to mobilize their Epicor Retail deployments — in particular to iPad and iPod devices. We’re having conversations with a great number of retailers — such as JC Penney,Quiksilverand Gordmans— who are anxious to leverage the power and performance of these new devices to drive transaction efficiencies, improve operational visibility and customer engagement, said Ian Rawlins, VP of Retail Product Marketing for Epicor.Additionally, the retail solution provider teamed up with Global Bay Mobile Technologies, a provider of next-generation mobile retail software, to offer comprehensive in-store mobile retail applications suite. The partnership offers retailers who use an older version of the Epicor store solution the ability to leverage new and emerging technology to efficiently manage their business. “Our mission is to mobile-enable retailers that have existing store systems,” said Sandeep Bhanote, CEO of Global Bay. “Working with leading retail technology providers such as Epicor is a step toward achieving that goal. While we’ve had the privilege of collaborating with Epicor on projects in the past, this formal partnering will allow us to help further Epicor’s heritage POS offerings and provide customers with seamless and cutting-edge mobile capabilities, ultimately enhancing retail brands and increasing sales.”
