C. Wonder Files For Bankruptcy

Following an influx of speculation regarding its fate, C. Wonder has filed for bankruptcy in New Jersey.

The apparel, accessories and home goods retailer filed due to “a combination of market pressures and mounting operating costs,” according to a company representative.

Earlier this month, the retailer announced that it would close most of its stores and gradually liquidate its remaining e-Commerce inventory. Now, the e-Commerce site only touts a message from the retailer saying its online business is temporarily closed.

Christopher Burch, Founder of C. Wonder, added in his own statement: “This is a very sad day for C. Wonder and its wonderful employees, vendors and customers.”
