Casper Launches Pop-In Shops Within Nine Nordstrom Stores

Casperhas been known to experiment with different store formats, having launched more than 15 pop-up shops throughout the U.S. before opening a permanent experiential store in NYC in March. Now the direct-to-consumer mattress company has partnered with Nordstrom to launch “pop-in” locations within nine stores across North America. Sleep-In@Nordstrom featuring Casper launched on July 13 and will remain open until August 26, 2018.

Visitors can experience and purchase Casper products including the original Casper mattress, the CasperWave mattress, pillows, sheets and even the dog bed in-store, to carry out or be delivered to their doorsteps.

Casper is using the shops for the exclusive launch of its newest sleep offering — Casper Airy Linen Sheets, constructed with soft, breathable Belgian flax linen for a light and fluffy feel, perfect for keeping cool in the summer heat.

The locations pair Casper products with an assortment of home and wellness essentials curated by Nordstrom VP of Creative Projects Olivia Kim and her team.

“Sleep and wellness is such an important part of our lives and we wanted to create a unique destination devoted to helping our customer find everything they need to achieve the best rest and relaxation possible,” said Kim in a statement. “Pop-In@Nordstrom is all about introducing our customers to the best of what’s out there, and we are excited to partner with a like-minded brand like Casper that leads with innovation and a strong customer experience.”

Launched in October 2013, Pop-In@Nordstrom is an ongoing series of themed pop-up shops that transitions every four to six weeks to offer a new shopping experience, often with exclusive merchandise. Kim and the Nordstrom Creative Projects team built the concept on a monthly rotation to keep customers coming back to discover new brands and merchandise, and to create a compelling experience in stores and online.

Since securing a $170 million funding round led by Target last year, Casper has put its new capital to good use. The company launched a design lab in San Francisco and expanded its products into Target’s stores and web site. Alongside the new NYC store, Casper also just opened up “The Dreamery,” a SoHo showroom that offers consumers 45-minute naps on the company’s mattresses for a $25 fee.
