Checkpoint Systems And Microsoft Add Sensor Data To Analytics Solution

checkpointCheckpoint Systems, a supplier of merchandising solutions, has collaborated with Microsoft to complement its RFID Merchandise Visibility solutions with the Microsoft Azure suite of cloud platforms.

The collaboration resulted in the creation of Sense + Respond, a platform designed to provide multichannel retailers with a flexible deployment approach to gather real-time insights and predictive analytics. The solution can be used to bolster numerous retail functions, with potential results including:

  • Increased customer engagement and conversion across channels through real-time, sensor-enabled shopper insights;

  • Increased omnichannel fulfillment efficiency, service quality and employee empowerment through sensor-enabled task management applications;

  • Improved supply chain agility and optimized last-mile delivery via real-time inventory transparency and order fulfillment process automation; and

  • Increased shelf availability in-store through improved inventory tracking and accuracy.

With Sense + Respond, retailers can gather a 360-degree view of customer behavior by integrating RFID, NFC, and location-based data with their existing reporting systems. Retailers also can integrate the IoT data from Checkpoint with Microsoft Azure’s machine learning  to further leverage data mining and predictive analytics capabilities.
