Former Google Shopping Exec Launches Mobile Tech Startup

Nitin Mangtani, a former Group Product Manager at Google Shopping, has founded mobile technology platform PredictSpring. Recently, the startup raised $2 million in funding from Beanstalk Ventures and Novel TMT Ventures.

The PredictSpring Mobile Platform is designed to enable retailers to build customized native mobile apps that offer a seamless shopping experience. Brands using the platform are better positioned to elevate their mobile brand experiences, reduce drop-off rates and increase mobile conversions.

Commerce Gateway is designed to make it easier for retailers to add shopping capabilities and buy buttons to online ads and social media posts. Providing a unified API, Commerce Gateway aims to remove barriers previously associated with mobile commerce. Commerce Gateway can integrate with a brand’s e-Commerce platform, store inventory system, payment processor, loyalty program, and product catalog. Brands such as Bluefly, Cole Haan, Eddie Bauer and Woodcraft currently use PredictSpring’s Commerce Gateway and Mobile Platform.

“Mobile commerce is undeniably the future of retail and shopping, but the technology hadn’t yet existed to make it a seamless buying experience,” Mangtani said. “For the past 15 years, brands and retailers have focused on ad formats to promote products, but these strategies were designed for desktop and have largely failed on mobile. We have arrived at a time when every form of mobile content will be ‘shoppable’ —whether via a retailer’s own app, social media platforms or publisher apps. PredictSpring is in the business of providing that gateway to commerce.”
