Hudson Expands Global Loyalty Program to North America

Travel retailer Hudson, a Dufry company, has rolled out its loyalty program to its more than 1,000 stores across North America. The Red By Dufry program is already live in the 50+ countries where Dufry operates.

Benefits include members-only discounts, a birthday reward, perks from car rental and hotel booking brand partners and pre-ordering through the retailer’s Reserve & Collect program, where available — all accessible via a mobile app.

“The loyalty we have with our travelers has always been a critical part of who Hudson is, and so we are thrilled to provide them with even more value, choice and ways to engage with us,” said Jordi Martin-Consuegra, CEO of Hudson in a statement. “With the introduction of our Red By Dufry loyalty program, we are giving travelers yet another reason to shop our stores while finding new opportunities to deliver our Traveler’s Best Friend experience, no matter where they travel.”

All new program members start at Silver status, receiving 5% off every purchase (excluding alcohol, tobacco, magazines and Apple, Beats and Bose electronics products). By accumulating points, members can achieve the 7% discount that comes with Gold status and the 10% off provided to Platinum members. Additional benefits include car rental savings from Avis and SIXT and savings when booking hotels on HotelsCombined.

During the past two years, Hudson has been enhancing its offerings with self-checkout technology and new store designs. The retailer announced its plans to deploy Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology in select stores in early 2021. Later that year, Hudson debuted the Evolve shop-in-shop concept at the company’s Dallas Love Field location, deploying the Amazon One palm recognition technology and offering BOPIS service for duty free shopping.
