Kohl’s has debuted a new assortment of women’s adaptive apparel from Nine West, available online. The line of elevated staple styles has multiple features to make them more accessible to people with disabilities, including magnetic closures and easier leg openings.

Kohl’s will add more adaptive choices for both men and women this fall across its Sonoma Goods for Life and TekGear private label brands, and will continue to provide inclusive offerings for kids across apparel and footwear.

The Nine West designs for women’s business casual attire includes classic blazers, high-rise tapered pants, barely-boot pants, flutter button front blouses, shirt tail draper shirts, surplice tops, ribbed tank dresses and wrap dresses. The blazers feature magnetic closures and inverted box pleats at the seam for better movement while putting on or taking off the garment.

The pant styles include adjustable elastic waistbands along with hook and loop flies, while dresses feature soft fabrics, easy popover faux wraps with magnets, added stretchability in the waist seam and magnet closures on the shoulders. The blouses and shirts also include cuffs with magnets, faux buttons and smocking at waistbands.

“Kohl’s is thrilled to expand our inclusive offerings and bring Nine West’s polished wardrobe staples to our customers nationwide,” said Nick Jones, Chief Merchandising and Digital Officer at Kohl’s in a statement. “With a focus on style, and thoughtful modifications for comfort and ease of independent dressing, this adaptive assortment was designed specifically to make everyday easier.”

Adaptive designs are slowly becoming more common in retail; Zappos Adaptive added new shoe styles in December 2020.
