Lloyds Pharmacy Rolls Out Interactive Kiosks In Premium Stores

Lloyds Pharmacy
, a UK-based community pharmacy and healthcare provider, has implemented Xen X5 kiosk printers and touchscreens from Protouch in nine of its premium stores. The pharmacy chain selected Protouch to provide a cost-effective kiosk solution that would also help provide a seamless and interactive in-store experience.

The kiosks are designed to improve the in-store experience by giving customers the freedom to browse the entire Lloyds Pharmacy inventory, place orders and complete purchases via credit cards. Shoppers also can scan products to access more detailed information and watch step-by-step product videos. Lloyds Pharmacy customers also will be able to use the kiosks to print health advice leaflets.

Lloyds Pharmacy switched to the kiosks after an initial trial tablet program did not produce the expected results. The new kiosk technology, however, “proved to be a fast, reliable platform,” according to a company press release. “With greater access to a wider range of items, these kiosks provided an alternative to purchasing and ordering specific products.”
