Nordstrom Supports Canadian Expansion With Oracle Upgrade

NordstromLogoNordstrom has implemented Oracle Retail Merchandise Operations Management and Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management solutions to support its expansion in Canada. The retailer plans to roll out the releases throughout its Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores.

The specialty retailer completed the implementation on schedule for the September 2014 opening of its two-story, 140,000-square-foot store at the Chinook Centre shopping mall in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

With the implementation, the retailer deployed an integrated suite of applications to support its core merchandising, pricing and store inventory operations, including Oracle Retail Merchandising System, Oracle Retail Price Management, Oracle Retail Trade Management and Oracle Retail Invoice Matching.

The Oracle Retail Merchandise Operations Management suite of solutions also provides Nordstrom with an upgrade path that lowers the total ownership cost across its IT systems.

“By rolling the new Oracle Retail solutions out in conjunction with the Canada expansion, we are able to fully evaluate and understand the new features and functionality before impacting our remaining store operations,” said Bill Tucker, VP of Technology at Nordstrom. “As we put the Oracle solutions in place across the business, we are positioned to take immediate advantage of new features, performance, and functionality enhancements in Oracle Retail 14.1.”
