Rookie USA, a children’s sports concept store, recently added a life-sized, HD-projected virtual assistant in the image of professional basketball player Carmelo Anthony in its Manhattan flagship location. The Tensator Virtual Assistant from Tensator, a U.K.-based queue management solutions provider combines HD projection and audio-visual technology designed to deliver a “wow” factor to the customer experience.
Virtual Carmelo Anthony explains and invites shoppers to experience the many high-tech shopping features offered throughout the Rookie USA concept store. These features include an iPad bar, Virtual Basketball Court, and interactive touchscreens and kiosks. Customers can scan QR codes with the Virtual Carmelo Anthony to gain exclusive information and deals on Rookie USA brands. The life-like digital signage introduces the complete Melo line of Carmelo-themed sports apparel; offers in-store advice and guidance; describes the Rookie USA loyalty program ― and also shares basketball tips.
