Sainsbury’s Upgrades POS with Mobility, Personalized Promotions

Sainsbury’s will upgrade 22,500 checkouts across its supermarkets, convenience stores and fuel stations with cloud-based POS and analytics solutions from NCR Voyix. With the new platform, associates will be able to approve transactions remotely via tablet devices, and self-checkout systems powered by AI will deliver personalized promotions tailored to each customer.

Additionally, by leveraging the solution’s cloud technology, Sainsbury’s will gain access to AI-powered real-time data and analytics for sales analysis, estimates of future store performance, associate productivity and cash management.

The deployment, which builds on Sainsbury’s 20+-year relationship with NCR, will include the NCR Voyix Commerce Platform, Point of Sale Solutions and Next Generation Self-Checkout systems, all powered by NCR Voyix Edge software.
