Sephora Adds On-Demand One-Hour Delivery Across North America

Sephora shoppers will now be able to get the retailer’s beauty products delivered to them in under an hour, on average, thanks to a new partnership with DoorDash. Items will be fulfilled from Sephora’s 500+ U.S. stores. Customers can use either the DoorDash app or website, and members of the Sephora Beauty Insider loyalty program can earn points for these purchases by linking their account on the DoorDash app’s Sephora store page. As part of the new partnership, DoorDash has launched a Beauty tile on its home page.

Additionally, consumers can shop on Sephora’s website for same-day delivery powered by DoorDash Drive, the company’s white label fulfillment platform. Items from U.S. Sephora stores will be available on DashPass, the DoorDash membership program that offers unlimited $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders.

“At Sephora, our clients are at the heart of our business, and we hear loud and clear that on-demand delivery is what they’re looking for,” said Nadine Graham, SVP, General Manager of Ecommerce at Sephora in a statement. “Being a part of the DoorDash platform allows for more convenience and flexibility and creates incredible value through our loyalty program, so both new and existing clients can continue to earn points on their orders, no matter how they shop with us.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Sephora to DoorDash as our first national prestige beauty retailer on the marketplace,” said Shanna Prevé, VP, Partnerships at DoorDash in a statement. “Our consumers crave convenience, and we’re excited to see how they’re inspired by this partnership with new beauty buying occasions like last-minute holiday gifts, new wish-list indulgences, and seasonal stock-ups ahead of parties or travel events.”

DoorDash has been expanding its product categories over the past 18 months, as seen most recently in the partnership with Tractor Supply announced earlier in November that adds farm and ranch, home improvement and lawn and garden products to its marketplace. Other notable retail partnerships include:

  • In March 2021, Rite Aid partnered with DoorDash for same-day delivery across 2,100 stores;
  • Dollar General began using DoorDash for same-day deliveries across more than 9,000 locations in November 2021; and
  • BJ’s Wholesale Club selected DoorDash as its grocery delivery partner across 226 stores in March 2022.

In September 2022, Sephora added a same-day delivery option for Beauty Insider members, charging $6.95 per order or an annual fee of $49. Not all Sephora products are available, but there are no order minimums for the service.
