Waitrose Delivers Real-Time Targeted Messaging At POS

UK grocer Waitrose will be using the “Message at Till” solution to deliver real-time messages at the point of sale (POS) in all 350 stores. The retailer has been testing the solution since 2015.

The Message at Till solution prints out personalized promotions, offers and messages alongside paper receipts at the POS. Communications are targeted to individual customers based on previous purchases or the items in the shopper’s current basket, and include value-added information such as recipe suggestions and introductions to new products.

Offered by Ecrebo, the solution will complement Waitrose’s offline marketing activities, and the platform is fully integrated with the myWaitrose loyalty program, which has more than six million members.

“Since the initial trial, Ecrebo’s Message at Till platform has opened up a dynamic new marketing channel for in-store customer engagement,” said Carl Kirby, CRM Marketing Manager for Waitrose in a statement. “It enables us to provide customers with more of what they love in a really direct and personal way.”
