Zenni Optical has introduced the EcoBloomz eyewear collection, manufactured with sustainability in mind and using a combination of recycled and bio-based materials. The collection features a wide range of styles, including classic browline and aviator frames, available in multiple colors and in kids’ sizes. Prices range from $25.95 to $42.95.
Additionally, Zenni Optical will donate 1% of the proceeds from sales of the eyewear line to the Wyland Foundation, which helps protect and preserve oceans, waterways and marine life.
Materials used to make the EcoBloomz frames include:
- Bio-based acetate: Crafted from renewable plant-based materials such as castor bean oil, wood pulp and cotton;
- Recycled PET: Made from 85% upcycled PET plastic, repurposing water bottles that would otherwise end up in landfills; and
- Recycled metal and bio-based acetate: A hybrid design pairing the strength of recycled stainless steel with bio-based acetate’s eco-friendly properties.
“This line showcases our commitment to both style and sustainability,” said Aysegul Colakel, Designer for Zenni in a statement. “We’ve paid meticulous attention to every detail, with frames crafted from high-premium bio-based and recycled materials to the final design, ensuring an eco-conscious collection with style.”
