Nordstrom Names Walmart Exec to Top Technology Post

Nordstrom has named Jason Morris as its new Chief Technology and Information Officer, effective May 1. Morris will bring more than 25 years of tech experience, most recently as SVP of Enterprise Business Services at Walmart. At Nordstrom, Morris will oversee technology functions including engineering, data science and analytics.

Prior to his current role at Walmart, Morris served as VP of Retail Technology, leading strategy, system development and implementation of hardware and software in more than 10,000 locations globally. He also has been responsible for technology development across functions including merchandising, replenishment, supplier management, real estate and global compliance.

“Jason has a wealth of experience leading large, global teams to create and implement best-in-class retail technology solutions,” said Erik Nordstrom, CEO of Nordstrom in a statement. “He will play a critical role as we continue to advance our Closer to You market strategy, and we look forward to welcoming him to the team.”
