As part of a planned succession, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet Holdings President Eric van der Valk has added CEO to his title and joined the retailer’s board of directors. Van der Valk joined Ollie’s in May 2021 as EVP and COO and was promoted to President in June 2024; former CEO John Swygert has been named Executive Chairman of the board.
“I am honored to continue to serve our associates, customers and business partners as the next CEO of Ollie’s,” said van der Valk in a statement. “I appreciate John’s mentorship and the trust he and the board have placed in me to lead the continued growth of our company. I look forward to delivering the thrill of shopping for ‘Good Stuff Cheap’ to millions of customers in the years to come.”
Ollie’s launched a branded credit card in December 2024 to help boost its customer acquisition and retention efforts.
