Tyco Introduces Source Tagging Program To Protect Store Merchandise

1SS STaaS Image

Tyco Retail Solutions has debuted its Source Tagging as a Service (STaaS) merchandise protection program, designed to maximize the value of retail source tagging initiatives.

Since retailers have limited time and staff to manage an electronic article surveillance (EAS) program, they can instead rely on the platform to oversee their programs to help increase sales, solve inventory shrink issues and optimize store labor.

After conducting store audits, the program specifies items to be tagged, certifies optimal tagging placement and supports engagement of suppliers. Monthly one-page reporting tracks progress and program compliance to predetermined success metrics.

In giving retailers access to actionable data, the program can improve the in-store experience by:

  • Enabling theft-prone goods to be openly merchandised and accessible;

  • Freeing associates to serve customers instead of tagging goods; and

  • Speeding throughput at the POS with consistent and proper label placement.

Retailers also can boost profitability with the program, which can:

  • Increase speed of item movement from back room to selling floor;

  • Maximize merchandising effectiveness of theft-prone goods; and

  • Prevent obscuring of brands or vital product information with the placement of EAS labels inside packaging.
