40% of Gen Z/Millennials Have Bought Items from Livestreams or Social Media Apps

A survey of 350 Gen Z and millennial consumers reveals the scale of social commerce opportunities: 40% have bought at least one item or service while either watching a livestream or while on a social media app, and 60% made a purchase via smartphone based on social media posts and/or influencer content.

At 41%, apparel is the leading socially-influenced product category, followed by beauty products at 23%.
