47% Of In-Store Shoppers Want Real-Time Offers Sent To Their Phones

Mobile devices are truly the new “advisors” in brick-and-mortar stores: 83% of consumers use their phones while shopping, and half of these shoppers use them for 15 minutes or more. With so many consumers staring at their screens as they walk the store aisles, it’s an untapped opportunity for retailers:

  • 52% of shoppers are open to receiving pop-up messages on their phones that are triggered when they enter a store;
  • 47% can’t wait to receive real-time promotions on their phones while shopping in-store;
  • 62% want to be able to scan a product on their device to see reviews and recommendations for other items they might like; and
  • 43% would like to receive digital coupons for products they looked at or scanned, but didn’t buy, after leaving the store.
