79% of UK Retailers Expect Brexit to Impact Cross-Border Commerce

Brexit has changed how retailers do business in the UK, and 56% of ecommerce merchants already were fully prepared for it by the end of 2020. Online retailers expect the most significant impacts to be seen in cross-border effects (79%); changes in accounting and reporting (68%); and inventory management issues in early 2021 (68%).

The Brexit changes are expected to affect shopper behavior as well — 43% of retailers expect UK customers to increase their purchases from other UK brands. Another 34% expect increased complaints in early 2021, while 33% expect returns to come in waves as a result of delayed shipments.
