Sustainability is now taking center stage for organizations when it comes to aligning strategic priorities with changing customer values. This shift in organizational priorities is brought about by rapidly growing environmental and societal concerns.
Capgemini Research Institute (CRI)’s latest research shows a significant majority of consumers (79%) are changing their purchase preferences based on sustainability. This contrasts sharply with only 36% of retailers actually believing that consumers are willing to make this change toward purchase choices based on social or environmental impact. Per CRI, such a gap represents a risk to losing ~6% of brand and retailer revenues if left unaddressed.
