Two-Thirds Of Consumers Have Increased Online Shopping Due To COVID-19

After COVID-19 disrupted Q2 for most retailers, the pressure is more intense for them to produce strong Q4 holiday results — and e-Commerce is their lifeline. Two-thirds of consumers have increased their online shopping compared to before the pandemic, and 28% feel uncomfortable about returning to physical stores.

When shopping online, consumers will expect offers, recommendations and promotions to be relevant and timely, with two-thirds expecting personalized experiences once they have shopped with a brand. These experiences are valued so much that 70% of consumers are willing to share personal preference data to receive them.
