The new Zebra MotionWorks Proximity solution can assist retailers with contact tracing by creating a record of proximity events for reporting purposes. Additionally, MotionWorks Proximity can proactively remind associates to maintain social distancing.
Proximity events are generated when employees are in close proximity over a period of five minutes, and the solution captures sensing data including duration and associated identities for each event. The data collected by the solution is tied to an employee ID or anonymized user ID, allowing for actionable insights by the employer while protecting individuals’ privacy.
The proximity event dashboard shows events and spots patterns to help managers properly coach workers and enforce social distancing. Accurate contact tracing can help companies quickly identify exposed employees for testing, potentially limiting facility closures.
Leveraging Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) and WiFi, the software solution is hosted in the cloud and managed remotely by Zebra. MotionWorks Proximity can be leveraged on existing supported Zebra Android devices, or on new devices available in different form factors and price points depending on customer requirements.
