TikTok Shop has expanded the refurbished electronics product category to U.S. consumers after a UK launch in September 2023. TikTok users can click the Shop tab to see refurbished products such as tablets, mobile phones and laptops being sold by approved TikTok sellers.
Each purchase is backed by TikTok Shop’s 90-day Buyer Protection Program, which allows customers to receive a refund for up to 90 days after purchase if an item is damaged, defective or not as described. Sellers also are required to provide a one-year warranty for all refurbished electronics sold via TikTok Shop.
To become an approved refurbished electronics seller, users must have all items inspected and rated by a TikTok Shop-approved third party, such as PhoneCheck, Blancco or BlackBelt. Only refurbished electronics with a rating of “Premium” or “Excellent” will be sold on the platform.
TikTok Shop plans to expand its refurbished electronics assortment over the coming months to also include earphones, headphones, smart watches and more. With holiday shopping ramping up, consumers will be able to access high-quality goods from Apple, Samsung, Google, Lenovo and other brands at a fraction of their original retail prices.
